St Paul de Vence, France

As per last year's pact, we found ourselves on the French Riviera for my birthday this year and just so happened upon the most photogenic town in Europe! And since we're throwing superlatives around, St Paul de Vence is the home to the most generous and welcoming Airbnb host we've ever come across and most definitely the home of the best dressed Airbnb dog we've ever had the pleasure to meet.

It's not hard to see why it's the most visited town in France as every inch of this plant covered stone village is absolutely gorgeous. Staying there meant that we had the village to ourselves first thing in the morning and could head out to the beach (via the very well connected public transport routes) and mountains (by car) while the apparent masses were in town, and return just in time for that sweet golden sunset over the city walls.

Three guesses where we'll be next August..
