Barton Orchards | Poughquag, USA

Early on a chilly Sunday, Luisa, Hetty + family and I piled into a 7 seater Zipvan to drive a couple of hours upstate of New York to Barton Orchards for a day of apple and pumpkin picking. The drive through the countryside was predictably beautiful with the trees wearing their best and brightest coats reserved for autumn. Many a sigh was sighed. One bout of carsick was dealt with promptly.

At the orchard we braved the cold air and made a beeline for the fry shack: sweet potato for Luisa and waffle for me. Onwards through the petting zoo (omg the goats), the bakery house (pumpkin pie! oreo brownies! snickerdoodles!), the preserves/fudge store and back again to the fry shack (yeah so?) where behold, it starts snowing! Top that life.

Here are some photos I managed to snap between shivers and delighted squeals.
